He observed that space is big and objects (in Earth’s orbit) are small. Furthermore, the satellites are located above the equator.

“According to preliminary calculations, the asteroid will still move a little away from the geostationary satellites,” the scientist announced in the forecast.

According to him, if Apophis “captures” the orbit of the satellites, it will be able to deactivate “at most one” spacecraft.

Let us remember that in April 2029 the asteroid will fly at a distance of 32 thousand kilometers from Earth.
