Sofia Muravyova dared to try the ultra-si, but she couldn’t handle her nerves. And Kamila, as always, glorified Eteri Tutberidze’s group.

The last stage of the Russian Grand Prix began in Moscow, where a large-scale confrontation took place in individual events. Both men and women gave many wonderful performances. The intrigue is off the charts.

Single skaters continue the trend of abandoning super difficult jumps and focusing on the purity of execution of the elements, but not everyone agrees with this. Thus, already in the first warm-up there was a figure skater who became the dark horse of the tournament.

And if they weren’t expecting a triple axel from Angelina Palagina, they were expecting it from Sofia Muravyova. Evgenia Plushenko’s student did her best, but she could not stand her excitement. It’s no surprise that she lost to Kamila Valieva.

Eteri Tutberidze’s ward once again glorified her group by organizing a real show on Megasport.

Is Davydova’s student a dark horse with a triple Axel?

In the last stage of the Moscow Grand Prix, a fierce fight was expected and the women showed it. Already in the first short program there was an attempt at ultra-si. Angelina Palagina unexpectedly landed a triple axel, but she didn’t manage to land the jump very successfully. However, she did not fall and the item was counted. Sergei Davydov’s student also performed a solo triple lutz and a cascade of triple flips and toe loops, but the skater performed slightly worse in the turns and step sequence, so her scores were low: 58.70 points. Still, it is worth keeping an eye on this athlete, who could surprise everyone in the future.

Maria Paramonova also made mistakes when cascading from a triple loop, but Ekaterina Anisimova had no problems. The skater easily coped with a set of snipe, flip-toe loop combination and solo loop. She scored 64.91 points. Kamilla Nelyubova, a student of Olympic champion Adelina Sotnikova, did not disappoint either. She successfully danced Crazy in Love, clearly performing a triple Lutz and sheepskin coat cascade, a double Axel and a solo flip in three turns. The public warmly received the figure skater, whose artistic skills are becoming increasingly stronger. The judges rated her performance with 66.56 points.

However, Ksenia Gushchina became the leader in the first warm-up of the participants. Student Kirill Davydenko showed inspired, easy but technical skating. He landed a double axel, a triple lutz waterfall, a triple toe loop and a triple flip without a mistake. Beautiful turns and a high-quality sequence of steps, as well as a touching story told on the ice – all this impressed the judges, who awarded it 67.32 points.

Plushenko’s student with ultra-si lost to Valieva

After the break, Daria Tretyakova and Victoria Nesterova were the first to hit the ice, but both skaters had difficulties with their skates. However, the athletes are still young and everything will be ahead. The one who has the most experience is Kamila Valieva. It was her whom the public awaited with great impatience.

Student Eteri Tutberidze put on a real show at the Megasport skating rink, performing her charming jazz program to perfection. The figure skater became even more confident and she captivated everyone with the incredible plasticity, grace and clarity of every element of her. She started with the easiest snipe, then added a triple flip and completed the jump portion with a triple lutz waterfall and sheepskin wrap. After skating, Camila smiled: it was clear that she was pleased with herself. As it turned out, the judges did too, because they gave Valieva 81.27 points.

It wasn’t easy to perform after the commotion created by the Beijing Olympic champion in the team tournament, but Veronica Yametova can do it all. For the second time this season, the athlete presented an energetic production of “In the Cave of the Mountain King” and she looked even better than before. The figure skater skated powerfully, but at the same time gracefully, completing jumps one after another: double Axel, triple Lutz waterfall, triple toe loop and triple flip. The referees valued Verónica. Yametova’s result is 70.67 points.

The winner of the previous stage of the Grand Prix, Ksenia Sinitsyna, unfortunately could not cope with her nerves and fell from the first element – the triple Lutz. Her stunt double submitted to her, as did the triple flip and toe loop combination in the second half of the show. True, the skater made a small mistake in the last waterfall, which once again showed that this time the athlete was very worried. His skating was not as smooth as usual, she was not focused and sometimes lost the necessary speed. All these shortcomings led to the fact that Sinitsyn was not satisfied with the grades – only 65.46 points.

The incredible story of Ksenia Sinitsina:

“The doctors did not notice the fracture.” The story of the improvement of a figure skater who beat Tutberidze’s students

And Sofya Muravyova completed the performances. Evgeniy Plushenko’s student did his best, going for the trixel, but he lost this battle by falling. She achieved the triple flip and a combination of triple lutz and sheepskin coat, trying to score the points she was missing in the second half of the program. Due to the fall, the athlete was a little confused and in the first rotation she only received the third level, but then she pulled herself together and did everything as smoothly as possible. Emotionally, it was impossible to criticize Muravyova: she was impeccable, as always. As a result, Sophia scored 76.67 points and took the second intermediate place. In the free program she will again collide with Kamila Valieva, who, even without ultra-c, shows the highest level of skating.
