Israeli military intelligence knew about Hamas’ plans a year before the start of the conflict – Rossiyskaya Gazeta

The publication writes that most of this information was transferred to the General Security Service (Shin Bet), and the political leaders, who changed at the end of last year, were familiar with at least some of the intelligence. But no one prepared for the threat and, furthermore, did not take it seriously. But the most likely thing, writes the author of the publication, is that no one, it seems, simply believed that Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar would risk implementing this plan obtained by Israeli intelligence.

The publication also writes that the failure, insufficient defense along the border fence, as well as the mistakes of politicians, all this led to the incident and many victims among civilians and military personnel.
