What are the benefits of drinking and smoking?

At a meeting of the Russian Presidential Council for Physical Education and Sports, the governor of the Sverdlovsk region, Evgeny Kuyvashev, presented an interesting initiative, which was reported by the local Oblastnaya Gazeta. To additionally finance the costs of construction of sports facilities, it would be useful to use part of the revenue from excise taxes on tobacco and alcohol, the head of the region suggested. The meeting participants liked this idea.

The inhabitants of the Middle Urals have long been firm friends of physical education and sports, and local authorities always help them in this. This summer, a section of Patrice Lumumba Street, where the Chkalovsky municipal sports and recreation complex is located, was renovated in Yekaterinburg. This is a modern sports center where residents of all ages can practice football, taekwondo, aikido, rhythmic gymnastics and other sports. And on Savkov Street they updated the route to the Iset sports club, where young people practice football, aerobics and stretching.

On Tekhnicheskaya Street there is a large park-stadium “Lokomotiv”, a favorite place for recreation and sports of residents of Staraya Sortirovka. According to physical trainer Anton Ivanov, the road to Lokomotiv has been in need of repair for a long time: “It’s great that now you are not afraid to trip over potholes in the asphalt or skid on a broken rut. And for me, as a coach, it is important knowing that people make the journey safely “to the training site. “I hope that these paths will now be available for all sports facilities in our city.”

Not only for professionals

Routes to sports facilities in the Perm region have become more accessible and safer. This year, almost 10 kilometers of these roads were renovated here. In the capital of the Kama region it was possible to repair even some of the facilities planned for 2024.

For example, Lebedeva Street on the site of one of the largest sports facilities in Perm – the Hammer Sports Palace. The roadway was cleaned, lawns and sidewalks were made, new curbs were installed, pedestrian barriers were installed and markings were applied.

“It’s fantastic that the streets are being renovated little by little. It’s very pleasant to drive at least a kilometer on smooth asphalt! In some areas of the Ordzhonikidze district there were always big potholes, there more than once I saw cars with damage or even torn off The wheels and potholes had to drive in the opposite lane, “which caused serious accidents. Now all these problems are in the past,” shared a resident of the Vyshka microdistrict.

The newspaper Zvezda gives another example. A month ago, the Governor of the Perm Territory, Dmitry Makhonin, and the Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation, Oleg Matytsin, within the framework of the XI International Forum “Russia, a sports power”, inaugurated a three-wheeled ski slope kilometers in Shilovsky. Forest. All conditions have been created here for the training of professional athletes in cross-country skiing and biathlon. And not only for them.

“I am convinced that the roller ski slope will be popular among residents of the Kama region, lovers of winter and summer sports,” said Dmitry Makhonin. And Oleg Matytsin noted that Russia already has a good tradition: building new sports facilities with good transport accessibility, giving people from different regions the opportunity to play sports in comfortable conditions.

All the best for the children.

The same successes are being achieved in the Irkutsk region. This year, 13 roads leading to sports facilities in Irkutsk, Angarsk, Bratsk, Usolye-Sibirskoye, Shelekhov and Cheremkhovo will be renovated.

In total, there are more than 15 kilometers of road network. In addition to repairing the roadway, pedestrian crossings are being installed here, traffic lights, barriers, signs and markings are being installed. “The peculiarity of sports facilities is that they attract a large number of athletes and spectators, especially during competitions,” said Igor Kobzev, governor of the Irkutsk region.

Along the roads under repair in Angarsk there are a large number of sports facilities. On Krasnaya Street, where the Ermak sports school operates, workers changed the asphalt of the road and sidewalks. A part of Leningradsky Prospekt has been repaired, where the Ermak stadium and the wrestling hall are located, nearby is the small Ermak stadium and the open-air skating rink of the children’s sports school.

Children are the first to benefit from new physical education and sports opportunities. On November 14, a children’s and sports park was solemnly opened on the territory of school number 29 in the village of Kirova. Last year, City Duma deputy Svetlana Kuznetsova, together with her assistants, worked hard to collect signatures in support of this project. As a result, 1,060 people supported him, writes the IrkutskMedia news agency.

“There is a real holiday in our district! Now children have the opportunity to spend their free time more usefully. For primary school children, there are swings, carousels, a slide, for older children – horizontal bars, bars and trellises. I am sure that everyone here will have fun and it will be interesting,” said Svetlana Kuznetsova.

Direct speech

Marat Khusnullin, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation:

– High-quality roads and transport accessibility play an important role in the development of any sphere of life, including the development and popularization of amateur and professional sports and a healthy lifestyle.

Adults and children should be able to comfortably reach stadiums and sports schools. Last year alone, within the framework of the national project “Safe and Quality Roads”, 725 kilometers of routes to sports facilities in the regions were renewed.
