This year marks 24 years since they were together. The status of the strongest and most influential couple in England, four children, friendship with the royal family – this couple seems ideal! However, not everything is so simple. David and Victoria had to go through difficult times. Their family happiness was threatened.
I fell in love after seeing it on television.
David still has the train ticket stub on which Victoria Adams, as lead singer of the Spice Girls, wrote his phone number. For the first time he saw the brunette in a video on television and simply dreamed of a personal meeting.
Soon the young footballer’s dreams came true. David and Victoria met at one of the parties. Beckham plucked up the courage and invited the girl to the match between Manchester United and Chelsea. To the athlete’s delight, Victoria attended the competition. February 1997 can be considered the starting point of the couple’s relationship. It was then when the singer handed over that bill to her contacts.

“She came to see me play in London with her then manager and one of the other Spice Girls, Sporty Spice (Melanie Chisholm). She had a couple of drinks, so I decided, why not, I’ll try to get her number. We talked for about an hour in the players’ room. In fact, she took the train that day, so she wrote down her number on the train ticket, which I still have,” David said on the Jimmy Falone Show.

On March 4, 1999, Victoria and David had a son, Brooklyn. And exactly two months later, the couple celebrated a luxurious wedding in an old Irish castle.
Even then, Victoria showed business acumen and the ability to count money. She didn’t depend on a singing career, but she didn’t want to sit idly by either. First, the star sold the rights to cover a closed-door wedding ceremony to a reputable publication. The amount was 15 million dollars. She then launched her own fashion line of clothing, accessories and perfumes.

In January 2000, British detectives warned David that unknown people were going to kidnap Victoria and little Brooklyn. The Beckhams’ life has become a nightmare. The family had to constantly change their place of residence. Two months passed and the danger seemed to have passed.
One day, during a rehearsal before Victoria’s performance, the beam of a laser sight suddenly jumped onto her chest. The star, picking up her son, ran towards the back exit. Maybe it was someone’s cruel joke. But since then, the couple has not left home without security.
Forced separation, betrayal and forgiveness.
In 2003, David Beckham signed a lucrative contract with Real Madrid. Victoria and her two children (by then Romeo had been born) remained in Britain. Along with David, her assistant, the charming blonde Rebecca Luz, flew to Spain. She played the role of the fatal temptress.
It soon emerged that Rebecca had become more than just David’s assistant. The press found out about the romance and published a photo of the couple kissing on a secret date. Everyone was watching Victoria’s reaction. Many were sure that divorce was inevitable. But, to everyone’s surprise, Victoria acted differently. Only in the documentary “Beckham” did the couple talk about the trials they had to go through at that time.
“This was the most difficult period for us. I have never been so unhappy. It seemed to me that the whole world was against us. And here’s the thing: we were against each other, to be completely honest. I can’t even begin to tell you how difficult it was and how it affected me. It was a nightmare. Wherever we went, they followed us,” Victoria said sadly.
David did everything he could to save the marriage and ask his wife for forgiveness.
“This was the first time Victoria and I were put under such pressure in our marriage. Every time we woke up, we felt like we were not only losing each other, we were drowning. I honestly don’t know how we survived this. Victoria means everything to me, seeing her hurt was incredibly difficult. But we are fighters. And we had to fight for each other, for our family, for what we had,” the footballer admitted in the documentary.
After the birth of Cruz’s third child, everything returned to normal. An idyll reigned in Beckham’s house. In 2006, David asked Victoria for her hand again. After her second wedding, they got a tattoo of the words “All Over Again.”

Creation of an empire and a long-awaited daughter
Once the crisis was over, the couple decided to seal the union with commercial ties. David and Victoria little by little began to make a brand based on their last name. The first sign was Victoria Beckham’s jeans collection for Rock&Republic. This was followed by a joint project – the dVb brand (David and Victoria Beckham). Clothing, accessories and fragrances were produced under this brand.
In 2009, Victoria presented her first collection, Victoria Beckham Collection. It included ten cocktail dresses and was a huge success. The brand began to gain popularity and the name Victoria Beckham began to gain weight in fashion circles.
In 2011, the couple’s fourth child was born, a long-awaited daughter. They called her Harper Seven. From that moment on, the family’s business empire began to grow.
Today, the Beckhams are one of the most famous, influential and richest celebrity couples. According to the Sunday Times Rich List, the couple’s fortune is estimated at $514 million, and the houses and apartments alone are worth $88 million.
