Ukrainian refugee said she was almost thrown out onto the streets in Britain – Rossiyskaya Gazeta

As Ukrainian Victoria told the publication, she “didn’t expect” to be homeless just six months after arriving in the country.

“I was worried that we would end up on the street. I had no idea what to do. It’s stressful because we don’t know what will happen to us next,” the woman complained.

According to her, local authorities do not allow Ukrainians to apply for citizenship.

Victoria added that the British Red Cross helped her solve her housing problem, but she is still not confident about the future.

“We expect thousands of Ukrainian men, women and children to be homeless in the UK this winter,” spokesperson Olivia Field said.
