In it, we wrote about an emergency situation in the village of Zanata, in the high mountains of Dagestan, where, due to the poor quality of the roads, a school bus cannot transport children from the village to a school located in the neighboring village of Batlukh. Therefore, the children have to walk six kilometers round trip every day.

The RG correspondent and the boys began the long walk to school. They said there was a school bus, but its use as transportation was prohibited due to the dangerous state of the road. In Zanat there is only one primary school, so high school students were assigned to study at the school in the nearest town, Batlukh.

There are only seven students: five boys and two girls. They have to get up at six in the morning and, whatever the weather, go to class along steep mountain trails, where they encounter jackals, hyenas and wild boars.

Following the publication in Rossiyskaya Gazeta, the head of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, ordered to submit a report on the progress of the investigation into the violation of the rights of residents of the village of Zanata, Shamilsky district of the republic.

“Numerous appeals to the authorized authorities did not give results. The investigative bodies of the Russian Investigative Committee for the Republic of Dagestan are conducting a procedural verification of this fact,” the Russian Investigative Committee reported.

The Shamil district administration reported that a meeting was held on October 20 in which the district prosecutor, the principal of Batlukh secondary school, representatives of the public and parents of students participated.

“It was proposed to accommodate the children in one of the three boarding schools operating in other locations in the district. The option of changing to a family or distance learning modality was expressed, but the parents rejected such proposals,” the administration said.

Local authorities proposed another option: to organize the transportation of children to the place of study by one of the parents in a Niva car, adapted for travel in difficult road conditions. The district administration promised to compensate the driver for expenses, including gasoline, from budget funds.

“Thank you for drawing attention to our problem in your newspaper. We hope that before the cold weather arrives the children will be able to travel by bus to school and back without problems.”

Local activist Magomed Magomedov, together with other residents, has been sending complaints to the head of Dagestan, the prosecutor’s office, the Ministry of Education of the republic, Dagestanovtodor and the Children’s Ombudsman for several years. He considers the proposals of the district administration unacceptable.

“What is it like to transport children in a Niva that seats four? And the rest go on foot? All residents want the road to be in proper condition so that children can safely travel to classes on the school bus ” says Magomed.

Previously, the Ministry of Transport of Dagestan, commenting on the situation of the road to the school, said that “the issue of developing the road with the installation of fences in dangerous areas and drawing up design estimates for repairs will be considered in 2024, when forming the state program for 2024-2030.”

Faced with great public outcry and interest in the problem on the part of the Investigative Committee, Dagestan officials decided to reconsider their decision.

Last week, the Dagestanavtodor commission arrived in the village of Zanata together with representatives of the traffic police.

“Based on the results of the road inspection, the commission decided to bring it back to normal condition through urgent and low-cost measures as part of routine maintenance work. Work on profiling, clearing debris and widening the road has already begun. the roadway. Reinforced In dangerous areas, concrete slabs are being installed and bridges are being equipped with metal railings,” Dagestanávtodor commented.

As explained by the department, road workers intend to complete the work as soon as possible. After an agreement with the traffic police, transportation of children by school bus to Batlukh school can begin.

Local residents confirmed to RG that heavy equipment is used in the repair of the road and that work is being actively carried out. Despite the fact that it has snowed in many mountainous regions of the republic, the weather here remains normal.

“Thank you for drawing attention to our problem in your newspaper. We have been contacting various authorities for so long, but no one has responded. We hope that before the cold weather sets in, the children can arrive and return to school on time.” bus without problems, instead of walking dangerous kilometers”, – the parents of the schoolchildren thanked the RG correspondent.

“Thank you for drawing attention to our problem in your newspaper. We hope that before the cold weather arrives the children will be able to travel by bus to school and back without problems.”
