“It is difficult to say anything based on this symbol. Perhaps this simply indicates that this unit belongs to some district participating in hostilities,” Knutov said in a comment to Lente.ru.

The expert stressed that this is “just a guess.”

Previously, inverted triangles were seen on armored vehicles caught on video by the Russian Defense Ministry. Journalists noted that such symbols did not previously exist and suggested that the Russian Armed Forces had a new tactical sign to designate equipment in the special operations zone.
