Anatoly Vasiliev’s students will present an evening of sketches based on Gorky at the Stanislavsky Electrotheater – Rossiyskaya Gazeta

The artists carried out laboratory work on Gorky’s work for more than a year under the direction of Anatoly Vasilyev. Among them are Ekaterina Andreeva, Maria Belyaeva, Daria Dalia, Ivan Kotik, Anton Lukin, Alexandra Milkis, Anastasia Neginskaya, Gleb Piryatinsky, Denis Prutov, Yanina Tretyakova and Pavel Shumsky.

During the next few nights the rehearsal process for the performance will be open to the public. The action promises to be unusual: the scenes are repeated several times by different performers, and the actors can play any character and in any sequence. The main theme of “Jackass” is the reflection of the characters on the ideal man, his conflict with the man of the old formation.

“The questions that the writer raises in his works seem relevant for researchers and creators of the work even now: what motivates man? Where does the animal end and man himself begin? What is freedom? Who is the author and is it necessary now? , in an era when do neural networks exist? Just like Gorky’s heroes, today, in an era of rapid scientific progress and technological development, we are still trying to find the answer to the question ” “Who am I?” says the Stanislavsky Electrotheater.

Viewers of the premiere are invited to get acquainted with the theater that is being born here and now. The absence of a “rigid” form of performance, improvisation, incompleteness – all this gives the viewer the opportunity to see the theatrical process “from the inside” and become a direct participant in direct theater.
