The working group on SVO sent in its next report to the president new proposals on measures to support fighters and their families, which among other things aim to equalize benefits for different categories of SVO participants, said the head of the group , Secretary of the General Council of United Russia, Andrei Turchak.

VOLUNTEERS = CONTRACTED WORKERS

“An analysis of the requests received by the group suggests that there is still an imbalance in this matter. In particular, we propose to extend to volunteers a number of benefits that are currently only available to contract soldiers: one-time payments in the event of injury or death, a tax deduction for personal income tax, and property tax benefits; provide the opportunity for parents and spouses of seriously injured service members and volunteers to take time off work while caring for them; allow the relatives of the SVO participant, by proxy, to register at their place of residence,” the politician noted.

In addition, it is proposed to approve a unified procedure for booking tickets for SVO participants if they go on vacation or for treatment.

“Often there are only business class tickets on sale, which are not reimbursed to fighters according to documents, or seats without luggage,” Andrei Turchak noted.

ADD PHYSICAL TREATMENT AND MASSAGE

In addition, the working group proposes to provide a special procedure for the comprehensive rehabilitation of those who have been wounded, injured, shocked or disabled in connection with combat operations, so that participants in the SVO can undergo it out of turn.

“Together with the Defenders of the Homeland Foundation we continue working on rehabilitation and prosthesis issues. The latter, in particular, requires, in addition to directly providing technical means of rehabilitation, also the provision of medical services, such as massage, physiotherapy and physiotherapy. Nowadays this is not provided for in prostheses. As a result, the person receives a means of rehabilitation that he cannot use,” stressed the head of the working group on SVO.

To solve the problem, he proposed instructing the Government to make changes to the range of prosthetic services to include the provision of medical care.

“Including medical rehabilitation services,” noted Andrei Turchak.
