Putin announced plans to achieve carbon neutrality in the Russian Federation by 2060 – Rossiyskaya Gazeta

According to him, to achieve carbon neutrality in our country, all available and effective tools are used to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. We are talking about nuclear energy, hydroelectric energy, increasing the absorptive capacity of forests, as well as environmentally friendly technologies in all sectors of the economy, the President noted.

Recall that in August of this year, Vladimir Putin also confirmed Russia’s commitment to low-carbon development goals. He noted that carbon neutrality is planned to be achieved, including by introducing technological innovations, modernizing infrastructure for access to clean and cheap energy and preserving terrestrial and marine ecosystems.
