December is here, which means it’s time to get inspired by winter sports. But this is not the only reason why we decided to remember hockey. There is something else. On November 23, the movie “Hockey Dads” was released. What is the movie about?

In the story, the parents of little hockey players decide to participate in an amateur tournament. This is necessary to save the city’s only ice palace, where his children practice, from demolition. But there’s a problem: men have never skated. The only good thing is that they have to play hockey, and this sport is good in our country.

Why do we love hockey so much and how did it become the most familiar sport? Let’s figure it out.

Hockey is one of the most popular sports, both because of the game itself and because of the interest of the spectators. Some of the best players, whom all hockey fans enthusiastically follow, are our compatriots: Alexander Ovechkin, Evgeniy Malkin, Valery Nichushkin, Kirill Kaprizov, Artem Zub, Artemy Panarin and many others.

The level of Russian hockey is so high that it attracts entire families to the television screens and stands. Even children adopt and support sporting traditions with great pleasure.

Why does the whole family go to hockey games?

1. Climate independence

The games are held in indoor stadiums. The temperature in the hockey stands is always stable: about +17 degrees. If you add some warm accessories in the form of a scarf and cap with the logo of your favorite team, watching the game will be even more comfortable.

2. Culture of behavior

At KHL, VHL, MHL and WHL games there are strict rules regarding swearing, offensive language and naked bodies in the stands. Teams whose fans violate the rules are punished with serious financial fines and even disqualification. Therefore, clubs pay close attention to working with fans and hold conversations with the leaders of the movement. And the fans themselves try to follow the rules. Nobody wants the next games to be played with empty stands.

3. Spectacular and dynamic game

The match consists of three halves of only 20 minutes of net time. During the breaks, happy music is played and activities for children and adults are carried out. Before the start of the match, spectators can be shown a laser show, performances by figure skaters, and also enjoy special events with the participation of legendary hockey players of different eras.

4. Availability of breaks

There are 17 minute breaks between periods. During this time you can grab a snack, purchase hockey paraphernalia, or participate in contests and souvenir giveaways. Plus, there’s no need to worry about food: besides the usual fries, hot dogs and sandwiches, you can find something healthier in the food courts. Some hockey arenas have full-service restaurants overlooking the ice.

5. The opportunity to express emotions.

Even if you don’t support a particular team, it’s still hard to sit still during a hockey game. Watching the match is the best way to share a different range of emotions with each other: from excitement to euphoria!
