Social media X (formerly Twitter) has announced the closure of business in Brazil. The platform said that this decision will be effective immediately. The country’s Supreme Court judge, Alexandre de Moraes, ordered the censorship, saying that X’s representative in Brazil would be arrested if he did not comply with the order. News, BBC.
Basically, the platform has announced to stop doing business in Brazil in view of this court order. However, the Supreme Court of the country has not yet commented on this issue. On the other hand, the billionaire Elon Musk’s platform said on Saturday (August 17) that people in Brazil can still use X.
