WHO: The number of COVID-19 cases in the world increased by 52 percent in a month – Rossiyskaya Gazeta

The report indicates that between November 20 and December 17, 850 thousand people were infected with coronavirus. Three thousand of them died from complications (eight percent less than the previous month).

COVID-19 hospitalizations increased 23 percent. More than 118 thousand people ended up in hospital beds. Of these, more than fifteen hundred ended up in intensive care units (a 51 percent increase was observed).

The WHO highlighted that the report does not reflect the real situation around the world, as only 105 countries provided data on cases of coronavirus infection and 50 countries reported deaths.
