The United States has praised the Bangladesh Army for showing ‘restraint’ in Sheikh Hasina’s departure. But at the same time, the country has called for the formation of an interim government through democratic means. In a report, the United Kingdom news agency Reuters reported this information.
According to the report, the White House spokesperson said on Monday, “The United States has long called for respect for democratic rights in Bangladesh and we are now calling for the formation of the interim government to be democratic and inclusive.” We appreciate the army for the restraint it has shown today.
After violence and many people were killed around the students’ movement that began last month demanding the abolition of quotas in government jobs, the students started a movement to demand the resignation of Sheikh Hasina. As a result of that movement, Sheikh Hasina left the country yesterday on Monday.
