Political scientist Karasev: Ukrainian Armed Forces will not attack Crimea even on orders of politicians – Rossiyskaya Gazeta

According to him, if Ukrainian politicians tell the military “go to Crimea”, the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny will answer “nothing.” “If there is no one, you can recruit, but there is nothing. What’s the point? He will recruit young people, but what will they fight with? Then they will simply be captured and destroyed,” RIA Novosti quotes the expert.

Karasev explained that Ukrainian politicians will not dare to attack the Russian peninsula, since almost everyone “does not understand what the point” of the conflict is.

The expert emphasized that Russian President Vladimir Putin does not need territories, but the neutrality of Ukraine and the absence of threats from its side under the leadership of NATO.

Earlier, US Senator Randal Paul said that Ukraine will not regain control of Crimea. According to him, there is no physical way to do it. The Republican added that even the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has already admitted that the situation has reached a dead end and there is talk of the need for a peaceful resolution of the conflict.
