A woman was arrested this Thursday (21) when she tried to enter the Baldomero Cavalcanti prison, located in Maceió, carrying drugs and a flash drive hidden in her private parts.
According to information from Seris, the seizure occurred during a scan carried out using the body scanning system, known as body scan. This technology was able to identify the presence of illicit objects in the woman’s body. Although it was possible to remove the drugs and the flash drive, a package remained retained in his system.
Faced with this situation, the woman was taken to a health unit, where a medical team concluded that surgery would be necessary to extract the retained object. The surgical procedure is scheduled to be carried out at the State General Hospital (HGE). After medical intervention, the suspect will face a custody hearing to answer for her actions and face any legal consequences.
Seris issued a statement emphasizing the importance of raising awareness among the population about the risks associated with attempting to enter prison units carrying illicit substances and prohibited objects hidden on the body.
