Last Thursday (14), a 42-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of keeping her 28-year-old husband in private prison and subjecting him to physical attacks in the city of Alta Floresta, located 790 km from Cuiabá.
Police authorities report that the investigation began after a friend of the victim reported that the man had been suffering abuse from his wife in recent days. Upon arriving at the scene, the police faced the suspect’s attempt to block her entry, but were eventually able to detain her.
The man was discovered lying on the floor, showing multiple bruises all over his body, according to police. He had difficulty standing and, therefore, a team from the Fire Department was called to take him to the local hospital.
During police interrogation, the young man revealed that he planned to divorce his wife and that he was about to receive a sum of money from the company he worked for. The boy had plans to move to Terra Nova do Norte, located 648 km from Cuiabá.
