A stepfather was arrested on suspicion of having raped his stepdaughters, aged 6, 9 and 11. The complaint arose when one of the children decided to report the abuse to the school she attended.
According to information from the Civil Police, not only the stepfather, but also the children’s mother faces charges, being arrested for inaction, after one of the daughters shared with her the terrible crimes they had been suffering.
During police interrogation, the stepfather vehemently denied any involvement in the abuse, while the mother admitted that her daughter had mentioned the incidents. She expressed regret for not taking adequate measures earlier.
According to the report of police officer Kleber Leandro Toleto Rodrigues, during the testimony, the mother revealed that she had fears about her partner’s arrest, since he was the family’s main financial provider, and she feared that, without him, the family would face financial difficulties. The couple’s arrests took place last Wednesday morning (20) on the farm where the family lived.
The delegate detailed that the complaint arose the previous week, when the 6-year-old child was visibly upset and asked to speak to the school psychologist.
