The Civil Police of the Federal District (PCDF), through the 5th Police Station (5th DP), launched this Wednesday “Operation Tifão” with the aim of dismantling a dangerous armed criminal organization involved in drug trafficking and commercialization. illegal firearms.
The operation involves the execution of 33 search and seizure warrants and 15 temporary arrest warrants against identified members of this criminal organization. The orders are being carried out in several Administrative Regions of the Federal District, including Estrutural, Taguatinga, Riacho Fundo, Riacho Fundo II, Águas Claras, Arniqueiras, Feira dos Importados do SIA, Ceilândia and in the city of Águas Lindas, in Goiás.
Operation Tifão is the unfolding of an investigation that began on August 30, 2022, after the arrest of two individuals for drug trafficking. On that occasion, the suspects were surprised carrying a large amount of crack hidden in a secret compartment of their vehicle.
After this arrest, investigators from the 5th Precinct examined the seized material and discovered that the traffickers were part of an armed criminal organization specializing in the interstate trade of drugs and firearms.

Throughout the investigation, other members of this criminal organization were identified, as well as some of its suppliers and customers. In addition to drug trafficking, it became clear that some of the organization’s members were also involved in the illegal firearms trade.
According to the information gathered, the criminal organization acquires its drugs not only in the Federal District, but also in other states of the federation, mainly in Goiás and Mato Grosso, demonstrating the interstate nature of the group’s criminal activities.
In the Federal District, the group operates mainly in the sale of drugs in the Plano Piloto of Brasília and in the Administrative Regions of Estrutural, Taguatinga, Riacho Fundo, Riacho Fundo II and Ceilândia.
