On Sunday night (24), the Military Police of the Federal District (PMDF) arrested a man who was carrying a firearm inside an interstate bus traveling on the Goiânia-GO – Corrente-PI route.
At around 8:30 pm, the police, who were on patrol at Sobradinho Bus Station, were approached by a bus driver, who expressed concerns and requested that an approach and thorough search of the vehicle be carried out.
What initially raised suspicions was the discovery of a CBC-branded package, which appeared to contain something related to weapons. A man on board claimed possession of the package and claimed it was a 5.5 caliber air gun. However, upon closer inspection, it was revealed that it was a 22 caliber Carbine firearm, also CBC, and that it was equipped with two magazines.
The individual admitted that he acquired the weapon in Taguatinga and intended to take it to Corrente-PI. However, he did not have the necessary documentation to authorize the transportation of the weapon, which resulted in him being taken to the 13th Police Station, together with the firearm, for the necessary legal measures.
