British influencer Nicky Newman died this Monday (18) at the age of 35 – and announced her own death in a post saying goodbye to her 300,000 followers.
She had been living with incurable breast cancer since she was 30, and shared her treatment routine on Instagram. Nicky also showed her daily life with her husband, who was responsible for publishing the influencer’s farewell letter.
In the letter, Nicky asks people not to talk about the disease as if it were a battle: “If you’re reading this, it means I died. But I stuck it out for 5 and a half years, not bad for stage 4 breast cancer, right? No I want to hear no ‘she fought her battle’ nonsense. I didn’t lose anything, the cancer eventually spread and that’s okay, we all knew it would.”
Known for the slogan “grab life”, she left advice for her followers: “Please promise to appreciate the people around you, and hug your friends and family a lot! Grab life! You never really know what the future holds -so don’t underestimate anything.”
Nicky’s husband also left a message for his followers: “Nicky never accepted anything half-heartedly, she grabbed life with both hands and made every moment special and memorable. She created a legacy here, a place where everyone can see that Life is about positivity and smiles and happiness. Even in the hard times… Even when it seems impossible.”
