Attention, taxpayers: the fifth installment of the Urban Property and Territorial Property Tax (IPTU) begins to expire between this Monday (18) and next Friday (22). If the property owner does not have the invoice in hand, it is possible to issue it online via the Revenue services portal or through the DF Economy app.

This Monday, the due date is for registrations with endings 1 and 2. From Tuesday to Friday, installments for registrations with endings 3 and 4 must be paid; 5 and 6; 7 and 8; and 9 and 0, respectively. The sixth and final installment of IPTU is scheduled for October, due on the 16th.

The tax payment slip can also be issued in person, at Na Hora stations or at DF Revenue service agencies, by calling 156, option 3, via a call made from a landline number.

According to calculations by the Federal District Finance Department (Sefaz-DF), in 2022, around 23% of taxpayers with their own property in the DF did not fulfill their obligations with the tax authorities, which implies the CPF or CNPJ registered in the debtor’s registry. Furthermore, the property may even go to auction if the debt is not paid.

Collection

The Government of the Federal District collected R$12.6 billion in taxes in the first half of 2023. Of the total collected, the majority comes from taxes in the areas of commerce and services. These values are essential for works such as the construction of daycare centers and basic health units and also for paying staff.
