Estopinha, the first pet influencer in Brazil, is recovering after suffering complications from a nail infection. Veterinarian Alexandre Rossi, the dog’s guardian, has been updating the pet’s health status on social media. According to him, the case is still serious.
This Sunday, the 17th, Estopinha was released to return home, but still needs to return to the veterinary hospital twice a day to receive intravenous antibiotics and undergo tests. Alexandre is responsible for taking care of the dog at home, applying other medications and monitoring the condition.
According to the veterinarian, she continues to drink water and eat well, as a result of the corticosteroids that Estopinha is taking. “She is taking a super high dose and it gives the impression that she is better than she really is”, commented Alexandre, who said that he and the veterinary team do “everything” to ensure that the dog recovers.
On Saturday, the 16th, Estopinha’s condition worsened and she needed to receive a blood transfusion. According to Alexandre, she undergoes treatment with antibiotics and anti-inflammatories. The veterinarian said that, at first, it was found that the dog feels little pain, which is a positive point.
Alexandre adopted Estopinha in 2009, after two families returned the dog because she was too agitated. Therefore, he kept the dog to show that it was possible to take care of more “artful” animals, sharing several of his moments on social media.
