The Joint Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry (CPMI), of the National Congress, which investigates the undemocratic acts that occurred on January 8th, listens, this Thursday (21st), to the Bolsonarist blogger Wellington Macedo de Souza, convicted of participating in the attempt to explosion near Brasília Airport.
This Wednesday (20), Minister Luís Roberto Barroso, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), ordered that Wellington be heard by the commission as being investigated, which guarantees him the right to remain silent, if he considers that the response could incriminate himself. it.
On Christmas Eve last year, Wellington and two other Bolsonarists, George Washington de Oliveira Sousa and Alan Diego dos Santos Rodrigues, planted a bomb in a fuel truck near the airport to “create chaos” in the capital.
During his opening speech, Wellington stated that he will collaborate with the investigations only when his defense has access to the accusatory records. Thus, when questioned by the commission’s rapporteur, senator Eliziane Gama (PSD-MA), he chose to remain silent.
After the failed attack and the conviction, Wellington fled on January 5th and was only arrested on September 14th, in a joint operation between the Federal Police (PF) and the Paraguayan police, where he was captured. The blogger was sentenced to 6 years in prison.
