Due to the strong heat and drought that hit the Federal District, sales of air conditioning units are expected to grow 3.5% in the last three months starting last July.
Demand for ventilators, which cost much less, could increase by up to 6%. And the sale of air humidifiers should expand by 5%. The projections are from the president of Sindivarejista, Sebastião Abritta.
To facilitate sales, most businesses sell these products in up to 12 installments on a credit card.
In Abritta’s assessment, “never in the history of Brasília’s 63 years have we had a winter as warm as it is now. In fact, winter will end on the 23rd, when spring will begin. Hopefully with less heat.”
