Cadibóde is about to release “Valéria”, the band’s newest EP. The launch will be at Porão do Rock, where the band from Brasilia will perform on the 29th.
The EP “Valéria” features heavier songs, with strong political messages. The album pays homage to guitarist Pedro Cacaes’ mother, who passed away due to Covid-19, and reflects the band’s dissatisfaction with the turbulent political scenario of recent years. “Because it’s an album in memorian, the entire tone of the EP is heavy. The cover is black and minimalist, representing the mourning for Dona Valéria, and the entire look adopted for the show will be darker, but without ceasing to bring the elements of chaos and madness and the impact that has become a hallmark of CadibódE’s shows in recent years. years”, says Bill Costa, Cadibóde bassist.
“The compositions began after recording the album ‘Ficar Doido é Fei’, from 2016, with the old lineup (which disbanded right before the pandemic). The pandemic also hindered production, but ended up defining the heavier tone of the songs, because of the tense and surreal situation we were going through. The guys who joined later arrived with experience in music production and got their hands dirty to speed up the recordings. The songs were recorded by the band at home and produced by Costela and Bill”, says guitarist Cacaes.
“Valéria” is not only the title of the EP, but also names the band’s fifth tour, which began in July 2023 in Brasília and has already passed through six Brazilian states.
After the EP, the band plans to release more than 10 tracks as singles and continue focusing on their future tours. Two documentaries are also in the plans.
At the event in Porão, the band will be the first attraction on the Canisso Stage, on September 29th. “This will be our third performance at Porão and we will play on stage in honor of Canisso, who in addition to giving enormous strength to the band, was a guy with a huge heart and very loved by everyone. The show will honor Cacaes’ mother, supporter unconditional support from CadibódE and Casa da Val, as well as being a very fun and beloved person. It’s a mix of feelings, it can’t help but be an emotional show.”, concludes Bill.
Cadibóde’s current lineup includes founding members Bruno “Bolhão” (vocalist) and Pedro Cacaes (guitarist). In 2021, guitarist Pedro Ben, drummer Yuri “Costela” and double bassist Guilherme “Bill” joined the band.
