A murder case has been filed against 7 people including former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and two former ministers.
On Tuesday (August 13), a businessman from the capital filed this case as a plaintiff in the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court of Dhaka.
It is said that the case will be heard in the court of Metropolitan Magistrate Rajesh Chowdhury at noon.
This is the first time that a case has been filed against Sheikh Hasina since her resignation as Prime Minister on August 5. The plaintiff in the case is the businessman SM Amir Hamza Shatil, a resident of Adabar area.
He said that he filed this case as a conscious citizen seeking justice for the killing of innocent citizens.
Other accused in the case along with former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina are former Bridges Minister and Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader, former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, former Inspector General of Police Abdullah Al Mamun, Joint Commissioner Biplab Kumar Sarkar, former DB Chief Haroon Or Rashid and DMP Commissioner Habibur Rahman. Accused. Apart from this, unidentified police officers or members of the police and senior officials of the then government have been named as defendants in the case.

In this regard, Amir Hamza Shatil told the media, “I filed this case out of conscience.” The hearing will be held in the afternoon.
According to the complaint of the case, recently, thousands of students and people held a rally in the quota reform movement in government jobs. Peaceful processions were fired indiscriminately in different parts of the country. Many students were killed and injured. On July 19, students were holding a peaceful procession in the 40 feet area of Basila in Mohammadpur. Police fired indiscriminately there too. Abu Saeed, a local grocer, was shot in the head while crossing the road. He died on the spot. The deceased Syed was buried at his village home in the new slum of Boda Upazila in Panchagarh. His mother, wife, son live there. Because of this, they are unable to come to Dhaka and file a case. For this reason, he filed this case to establish the rule of law in pursuit of conscience.
The complaint also said that former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has repeatedly ordered to suppress the quota reform movement with a strong hand. On the orders of Obaidul Quader and Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, the IGP and senior officers of the police opened fire on the procession on the orders of the subordinate policemen. The accused committed the murder in mutual connivance. So it needs to be judged.
