Melinda French Gates has announced that she will step down from the position of Co-Chair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the world’s leading charitable organization based in the United States. In a post on X on Monday, he wrote, “This is not a decision that I have taken lightly.”

Melinda will spend her last working day at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation on June 7. Melinda Gates established the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in the United States in 2000 with her then husband Bill Gates, the richest man in the world. From this foundation, various types of charitable activities are conducted and financial support is given around the world. This foundation is the largest organization conducting such activities in the world.

Bill and Melinda Gates announced their divorce in 2021 after 27 years of marriage. But both vowed to continue their humanitarian aid operations.

Currently, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is one of the organizations and institutions that work on public health in the world. Hundreds of billions of dollars are spent each year from this foundation to control infectious diseases, alleviate poverty and combat the effects of climate change.

According to the foundation’s website, Bill and Melinda Gates have donated more than $3,600 million to the foundation.

Melinda Gates wrote in the post, ‘I am very proud of the foundation that Bill and I built together.’ To work in support of needy families.
