Actress and presenter Drew Barrymore apologized, through a publication on her Instagram account, through tears for having returned to her program, despite the strikes of Hollywood actors and writers.
“I think there is nothing I can do in this situation to fix everything and that’s it. I own this decision, wrongdoing being protected by a public relations matter and taking full responsibility for my actions.
“I know there is nothing I can do to make everything okay in the eyes of those who don’t think this situation is okay,” Barrymore began.
It is worth mentioning that the strike encourages that it is strictly prohibited to promote productions, since even the writers of the negative union are participating in them.
In this regard, Barrymore partially breached an agreement by returning to her daytime television talk show, wrongdoing the company of her writers.
“I accept it and understand it perfectly. This is a very complex issue, but I want to make it clear that my intention has never been to bother or affect anyone. I am negative like that. The truth is that I have been through many ups and downs throughout my life and this is one of those.
“I want to offer my deepest apologies to the writers and the unions,” the American actress continued, showing a calm and slightly broken tone.
Barrymore went on to state that she did not and does not seek to break any rules and that she feels more than committed to those people who are fighting for their rights.
“There’s a big question about why am I doing this? Well, I certainly expected this kind of attention, but it clarified that we’re going to break the rules, we’re going to follow them. I want to do this because I thought, ‘This is bigger than that.’ me’ and is involved in the work of many people,” he concluded.
