São Paulo had income of just over R$24.5 million in this Sunday’s game (24), against Flamengo, in the second game of the Copa do Brasil final. The record for Brazilian football was in the first match of the decision, when the amount raised exceeded R$26 million.

The match at Morumbi had an income of R$ 24,520,800.00, and an audience of 63,077.
At Maracanã, gross income was R$26,343,300.00. The match was attended by 60,390 fans.

Tickets for the duel at Morumbi cost from R$100, at half-price in the yellow stands, to R$2,000 in boxes.

The second game of last year’s Copa do Brasil final, between Flamengo and Corinthians, at Maracanã, had revenue of R$11.1 million.

At Maracanã, Flamengo fans booed the income announcement and then protested against president Rodolfo Landim and football vice Marcos Braz.

CLUBS AND CBF NOTIFIED

CBF, Flamengo and São Paulo were notified by the National Consumer Secretariat (Senacon) due to ticket prices for the final games.
The red-black team was also notified by Procon-RJ. In response to the agency, it claimed “supply and demand”.

PREVIOUS RECORD

Until the first game of the Copa do Brasil final, the record belonged to the game between Atlético-MG and Olímpia, in 2013, in the second leg of the Libertadores final.

On that occasion, gross income was R$14.2 million for a paying public of 56,557 people.
