Generally bringing political and social themes into his lyrics, Brasilia rapper Sid is also specializing in rhymes with less “seriousness”, which he masterfully shows in his new single, “Qual de Nós?”, released this Friday (22) . The new track is also the continuation of an animation project started last year.
In the new track, Sid and Krawk, a rapper invited to participate in the project, talk about a woman they are both in love with – and the animation of the music video follows the same storytelling. Now available on all digital platforms via ONErpm, the track is a more playful work by Sid, bringing a less serious story than his other projects.
“In this project, like the other animations, I seek to take the MC away from the seriousness of the solely and exclusively political discourse, solely and exclusively about mental health. All these subjects are extremely important, my career is based on them, however, no one is like this 24 hours a day. Everyone sometimes wakes up wanting a little something else, you know? I want to laugh more, I want to relax”, says Sid.
The track features a more lively and danceable musicality, with rhymes exchanged between the two rappers, engaging in a real MC battle. With a lot of history behind them, Sid and Krawk have known each other for years in battles, so they both feel very happy to be able to work together on a new sound – their first official collaboration.
About this, Sid comments: “The idea was to call Krawk for this sound, as he has been a partner of mine for a long time. But, in six years, we never managed to do any work together because we didn’t fit together. Until I had the idea for this song and I said, wow, I think we can finally do something together – and he was as happy as I was to finally be able to do something together, not only as artists, but as friends.”
One of the main parts of the release is its music video animated by Seelvart, a renowned graphic artist who created the seven animations already released by Bendita Gravadora, by Sid. Telling a fun story about the same narrative as the rhymes, the video gives something more to “ Which one of us?”, enchanting the audience.
