The Parliamentary Inquiry Commission (CPI), of the Legislative Chamber of the Federal District (CLDF), which investigates the undemocratic acts that occurred on January 8th, hears, this Thursday (21), the colonel of the Military Police (PMDF) José Ferreira de Sousa Bezerra.

In his testimony, the colonel stated that he was not invited to participate or received any documents about the preparatory security meeting for the undemocratic acts, which took place on January 8th.

“I was not invited, I did not receive, responding to the leadership, a document calling for the meeting, I was not included in the WhatsApp group to make decisions about what was being discussed, about the demonstrations”, said the soldier.

On that date, when a group of those opposed to the government of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) invaded and destroyed the headquarters of the National Congress and the Federal Supreme Court (STF) and the Palácio do Planalto, the colonel acted as interim head of the Department of Operations (DOP) of the corporation.

Having taken over the department the previous week, when the incumbent, Colonel Jorge Eduardo Naime, went on leave, José Ferreira is accused of failing to comply with the security plan to prevent the attacks.

Currently, Bezerra and Naime are in prison, after being denounced by the Federal Attorney General’s Office (PGR). Because he was in prison, José needed authorization from Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the STF, to testify to the commission as a witness.
