United States President Joe Biden emphatically defended Ukraine during a speech at the UN General Assembly, and said that Russia is the only country that can end the war.
WHAT DID HE SAY:
“For the second year in a row, this meeting is cloaked in the shadow of war,” Biden said.
Russia is the only one responsible for this war, Russia is the only one who has the power to end this war immediately and Russia is the only one who stands in the way of peace, because Russia’s price for peace is surrender, the territory and the children of Ukraine.

The President also said that Vladimir Putin’s country will not win a conflict through fatigue. “Russia believes the world will grow weary and allow it to brutalize Ukraine without consequences. But if we abandon the core values of the United Nations Charter to calm an aggressor, can member states trust that they are protected? If we allow Ukraine is partitioned, will the independence of any country be safe?” he asked.
Biden also addressed other topics, such as support for combating the climate crisis. “Since the first day of my administration, the US has treated this crisis as the existential threat that it is, not only to us, but to all of humanity,” he said, citing the floods in Libya and the fires in Europe as results of the change in the climate. “These portraits tell an urgent story of what awaits us if we fail to reduce dependence on fossil fuels.”
