In October, Ceilândia hosts the Professional Cooking course, from the Gastronomia Periférica school in São Paulo. Classes begin on October 2nd and run until January 2024, with a paid internship to follow.

Registration is free and can be done until this Friday (22) using the form. To participate, you just need to be 18 years old or over and want to work in professional gastronomy.

Classes are hybrid (mostly online, with in-person meetings to be arranged). The location of the face-to-face meetings will be the Maraíba Espetinhos restaurant, at QNO 09, in Ceilândia. The course will teach issues such as basic cooking techniques, hygiene and safety, as well as the production of dishes and foods with meat, poultry, seafood, chocolate, coffee and much more.

The organizers explain that there will be two modules. “The first module will last 30 days. In it, we will help you organize your study routine and get started in the world of gastronomy. It requires dedication, in attending classes and carrying out the proposed activities”, they say. “If you do well in the first module, you will continue with us for the second, delving deeper into the routines of the gastronomic market.”

At the end of the course and the mandatory paid internship, students will receive a certificate.

About Peripheral Gastronomy

The Gastronomia Periférica school is a project that uses gastronomy to improve the lives of people living on the outskirts. It all started as a workshop in 2012, created by Adélia Rodrigues and Edson Leite, and became a school in 2018.

The project aims to raise awareness about food waste and full use, as well as bringing knowledge to the country’s outskirts. The school’s courses are real opportunities for people to change their lives. Gastronomia Periférica has already trained more than 1000 people and was a finalist in the Folha de Empreendedorismo Social Award, in 2022, among other contests for renowned awards in world gastronomy.
