Actress Guta Stresser, known for playing the character Bebel in the comedy series A Grande Família (2001-2014), spoke this Sunday, 18th, on Record TV’s Domingo Espetacular program, about how she has faced and treated herself for multiple sclerosis, a disease that she discovered she had it in 2021.
Guta stated that she is undergoing treatment through the SUS (Unified Health System) and that she has been dealing with bills to pay, like many people – the actress no longer has a contract with TV Globo since 2015.
“People always think they have a super paradisiacal, wonderful life. And you’re there having to pay the bill, having to pay I don’t know what, and the bills keep arriving. No one wants to lose a house because they couldn’t pay the mortgage , because he was left without a contract”, he told the program.
Recently, the actress lost an apartment in Rio de Janeiro that was put up for auction after she was no longer able to pay the mortgage payments.
Guta also told Domingo Espetacular about the symptoms of the disease. “A lot of tingling, a lot in the extremities. Buzzing inside the head, and I still have that today, with or without medication. If I’m silent, it’s there inside the head. You have to keep the disease under control,” he explained.
The actress, who currently lives in Curitiba and will premiere a play in the city next month, also spoke about the prejudice that people with multiple sclerosis can face, especially at work.
“I think this prejudice is largely due to a lack of knowledge. Working is good for you. You working is good. The worst thing, I think, for someone with multiple sclerosis, is to stop. Because, when you stop, the message It’s like that in the nervous system. If you accept it, you stop, you paralyze”, he said.
