The population of the Riacho Fundo Administrative Region will receive, next Saturday (23), the 32nd participatory workshop on the review of the Territorial Planning Master Plan (Pdot). The event, organized by the Department of Urban Development and Housing (Seduh), is an opportunity for the community to suggest and debate improvements for the location.
The workshop will start at 9 am, in the auditorium of the Federal Institute of Brasília – Riacho Fundo (Avenida Cedro, AE 15, QS 16). The proposals will be analyzed and inserted into the new Pdot text, which is the law that determines the development of the Federal District and needs to be reviewed every ten years.
“It is in the Master Plan that the areas of housing supply, environmental preservation, regularization, priority areas for certain types of investment are defined, in addition to urban and rural areas”, explains the coordinator of Urban Planning and Sustainability at Seduh, Mário Pacheco .
Rosana Lucia, community leader of Riacho Fundo, believes that community participation is essential, as it brings a discerning perspective, with the credibility of someone who lives the day-to-day reality.
“It’s a chance to correct past injustices, such as areas of traditional communities that have been forgotten over time. It is also necessary to think about the city and its features, installing schools and daycare centers, as well as leisure equipment; focus on improving mobility, bringing public transport to areas that are not yet served and bringing cycle paths for a more sustainable alternative”, highlights Rosana.

Who can participate?
All residents of the Federal District interested in discussing urban planning and the future of the city, of different age groups and genders, can participate in the workshops in all administrative regions.
