Investigators have completed work on the criminal case of vandalism and outrage to the religious feelings of believers. The investigation accuses Kansk residents aged 20 and 29 of these and other crimes, the regional department of the Russian Investigative Committee reported.

It was established that two drunk citizens approached the official vehicle of the Ministry of the Interior in the early hours of October 15, and the younger one began to publicly scold the police officer. Later, friends in the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, in the presence of believers, swore obscenely, laughed and shouted. Then, the young man took the stand in front of the iconostasis and from there threatened parishioners and clergy with violence.

After the arrest of the suspects, the 20-year-old citizen was detained and the older man was released, prohibiting him from carrying out certain actions. Both citizens fully admitted their guilt.

The criminal case has been sent to the prosecutor’s office to approve the charges. The materials will be sent to court in the near future.
