In this match, Lokomotiv was forced to do without the disqualified head coach Mikhail Galaktionov and team captain Dmitry Barinov, who allowed themselves to say too much after the match against the “Wings of the Soviets”.

Since the morning, heavy snow fell in Moscow and the workers at the Cherkizovo stadium took it very seriously. The grass was covered, but there was not enough time to prepare it for the game and the match was delayed half an hour. But the field was cleared and normal conditions were created for the players.

The scoring opened in the eighth minute of the game. Maxim Glushenkov sent a cross from a corner to the near post, and Zenit goalkeeper Mikhail Kerzhakov played his worst and the ball entered the net from his stomach.

But shortly before the break, Mateo Cassierra managed to restore equality.

In the second half, Lokomotiv showed a more complete game and achieved the victory. Following a cross from a free kick by substitute Anton Miranchuk, Glushenkov headed the ball into the net.

And the final result was Nair Tiknizyan 3-1. Lokomotiv defeated Zenit in both matches of the current RPL season.
