The North Korean dictatorship called South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol a “treasonous puppet” and a “diplomatic idiot” this Monday (25), after Yoon classified possible military aid from the North as a “direct provocation”. Russia to Pyongyang in his speech to the UN General Assembly last week.

“The traitorous puppet Yoon Suk-yeol, even at the 78th UN General Assembly, malignantly defamed relations between North Korea and Russia,” the regime’s state agency KCNA said.

Last Wednesday (20), Yoon used his speech to criticize the rapprochement between Kim and Vladimir Putin. The two leaders met in Vladivostok, in Russia’s far east, in a meeting that Seoul and Western allies, such as the United States, treated with concern about the possibility that the close ties between the two were also military.

“It is paradoxical that a member of the UN Security Council, which is the ultimate guardian of world peace, invades a sovereign nation and receives weapons and ammunition from a regime that flagrantly violates the Council’s own resolutions,” Yoon said from the Assembly’s pulpit. -General, in New York, referring to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

“It is evident that a trash-headed fellow cannot understand the profound and enormous significance of the development of friendly relations between North Korea and Russia,” KCNA reported. “No one in the world would listen to the hysterical attack of the traitorous puppet Yoon Suk-yeol, who only bears the shameful reputation of being politically immature, a diplomatic idiot and an incompetent leader.”

The state agency made no reference to any pact regarding arms and military technology trade with Russia, saying only that it is natural and legitimate for neighboring countries to remain close to each other.

The South Korean Ministry of Unification spokesman said KCNA’s insults demonstrated North Korea’s “inferior system, which lacks basic etiquette and common sense.”

During his visit to Vladivostok, Kim stated that Putin has his “full support in the sacred struggle against hegemonic forces” and toasted a Russian victory in the Ukrainian War. The North Korean visited and visited the facilities at the Vostochny cosmodrome, a space base opened in 2016.

Although no exchange of technologies was made official, the visit carried obvious messages. At the end of August, Pyongyang failed in its second attempt to launch a spy satellite — Japan, South Korea and the United States repudiated the action.

One of the concerns of the three allies regarding the meeting is that Moscow will contribute aerospace and ballistic technology to the North Korean space and weapons program, including nuclear ones. In return, Kim would provide Putin with conventional weapons and ammunition to increase the effort on the border conflict with Ukraine.

Before the meeting between the two began, Putin was asked about providing rocket and satellite technology to North Korea. “That’s what we came here for,” he said, referring to the cosmodrome.
