The new Technical School of Paranoá is in the final stage of completion and will have the capacity to serve approximately 2,400 students. On site, students will have the opportunity to learn civil construction and building design, public and private services.

According to the Undersecretary of School Infrastructure of the Department of Education, Leonardo Balduino, the Technical School of Paranoá is a fulfillment of the community’s desires in the search for professional specialization.

“With the new space, students will be able to access education, a right recommended in the Constitution, preparing themselves to exercise citizenship and be qualified for work. The new Technical School is close to the homes of many students, who will no longer need to spend a lot of time commuting,” he says.

Balduino adds that the institution will benefit students, who will be able to enter a technical course with the aim of exploring more skills and improving more knowledge.

Construction is being carried out on Court 1, Set A, in Special Area 1 of Paranoá, next to the JK Paranoá Stadium. The work is in the finishing stage, completing the urbanization and the external area. Permanent connections for energy, water, sewage and rainwater are still missing. The teams will start painting the facades next week.

Expectation

Student Moisés Silva Freire, 14 years old, lives next to where construction work is taking place at the Technical School of Paranoá. According to him, the structure brings new expectations for possible professionalization in the future. “When I reach adulthood, I do intend to use technical school. And it will also be good for removing people who are on the streets doing wrong things. This is another opportunity for them to have a better opportunity”, he defended.

Security guard Fernando Aires, 31, reinforced the need to facilitate access to education to reduce crime in the region. “It’s good to know that there is a technical school nearby because it opens up opportunities, especially for young people who are on the streets”, he pointed out.
