After successful presentations of the shows “Monstros”, in May 2023, and “Perdoa-me: Pesadelo Show”, in August, the theater group Novos Candangos announces the play “Novelão”. The show mixes classic soap operas and characters from the 1980s, 1990s and also the 21st century.

The play will be on display on the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th of October, from Thursday to Sunday, always at 8pm, at Sesc Taguatinga (St. B Norte – CBN 12 – Especial Area 2/3 – Taguatinga Norte). Advance tickets cost from R$20 at Sympla.

“’Novelão’ is a tribute to the universe of Brazilian soap operas, where wild plots, striking characters and twists are the highlight of the production. The show captures the essence of the genre, offering the public an experience that is, at the same time, nostalgic and surprising”, highlights the group’s director, Diego Ponce de Leon.

With a cast made up of renowned and award-winning actors/actresses from Brasília and a collectively constructed script, “Novelão” tells the story of a Brazilian soldier who disappears in the middle of a war, being presumed dead. His hometown “Água Seca” becomes a tourist site in honor of him. Fifteen years later, he returns, revealing shocking secrets about his past.

“Local authorities panic and take drastic measures to protect the city. However, ancient secrets can threaten the story, triggering a series of surprising events. “Novelão” is a celebration of soap opera culture and Grupo Novos Candangos is eager to share this experience with the public. Get ready to laugh, cry and be surprised as you dive into this universe full of twists and emotions”, highlights the actress and also founder of the group, Tati Ramos.
