After leaving a meeting with the Ministry of Management and Innovation in Public Services without a date for a government counter-proposal to the category’s demands, Central Bank employees decided to enter the so-called “phase 2” of the standard operation movement, which has already lasted two months. According to BC officials, the escalation of mobilization will affect planned deliveries for Pix and Drex – the institution’s digital currency.

The National Union of Central Bank Employees (Sinal) complains about what it calls the government’s “lack of commitment” in negotiating with the category. The municipality’s employees were waiting for at least a date for the Executive’s counter-proposal at the Specific Negotiation Table with BC employees.

Without a signal from the department, servers will now intensify standard operations at the agency. The Signal foresees delays in the implementation of Pix in installments and other types of the instant payment instrument. “These delays could have significant repercussions for both banking services and the general public”, says the union, in a note.

The move also foresees delays to Drex projects, which involve the introduction of the bank’s new digital currency. “This setback could disrupt the intended progress in the modernization of financial services”, adds Sinal.

On the category’s agenda is the restructuring of the BC career, with the creation of a productivity bonus similar to that implemented for the Federal Revenue Service under the current government. The employees also ask for higher education to be required for the position of BC technician and the change of nomenclature for the position of analyst.

“Without the complete restructuring of the career, representatives of BC employees predict an inevitable dismantling of the BC specialist career – a situation that has been worsening in the last decade, with readjustments below inflation and growing asymmetries in relation to similar careers” , adds the union, which also draws up lists for the collective delivery of leadership positions in the municipality.
